Robert Porter opens sewing machine repair shop in basement in Hamilton, MA

1950

Robert Porter launches Porter Sewing Machines in Beverly, MA

1969

Robert Porter invents Top Feed mechanism

1973

Mike Porter joins Porter Sewing Machines

1974

Porter Sewing Machines officially becomes an equipment manufacturer (Automotive, Outerwear, Bedding)

Mike Porter invents Walking Foot Mechanism

1982

Porter develops it’s first Flange Machine, the PFM 515

1990

Porter International officially leaves the textile and apparel industry to pursue the Bedding industry full-time

Porter International develops: Pillow Top System, Tape Edge, Auto Label, Auto Flanger

Leggett & Platt acquires Porter International

2000

Mike Porter leaves Leggett & Platt and establishes new company called Jumpsource

2003

Jumpsource lands contracts with several Fortune 500 companies: Textron, Briggs & Stratton, JLG / Oshkosh Truck

2004

Jumpsource forms new Textile Division and enters partnership with Dunlap Sunbrand International to manufacture spare parts for the sewing machine industries.

2014

Jumpsource acquires the rights to United Mattress Machinery to develop a bedding machinery division.

2016

Due to PTP’s revolutionary results, the Porters decided to combine PTP technology with UMM and introduce the most durable mattress machinery in the world
